Carrots are a food Crop and a Resources in YMIR. They help provide a Pig's Vital needs.

It takes 1 Cultural point to unlock the consumption of carrots, it takes another Culture point in order to grow carrots on fields. Carrots can however be gatherd on natural patches without having to put a cultural point into carrot production.

Carrots can be grown in two biomes Oceanic and Continental.

Carrots are often paired with Wheat and Apples as the main diet of porcos in the biomes it can be grown in. Carrots are the only crop in the Continental and Oceanic biomes that are not used in industry, and thus are sole used to fullfil the porcos vital needs.

Carrots can be found in dense natural patches or can be manualy grown with Fields. These fields and natural patches can only be exploited by the Farm and Gathering camp.

The patches are usualy dense enough to be worked with just 2 gathering camps (note these gathering camps might not work on 100% efficenty).

Gather rate[edit | edit source]

The gather rate for natural patches is 0.01 to 0.02 per carrot tile.

The gather rate for Fields is 0.1 - 0.2 per field annex (depends on fertility).

The Field annexes can be placed in fertility ranging from 1 to 4 it is advised to place the Fields in the highest possible fertility. (Continental mostly has 3 fertility while Oceanic can range between 2 and 4 fertility)

The Yield of carrot fields and natural patches can be increased substantialy by the use of more Culture points, for example the yield of a carrot field on 3 fertility can be brought up to 0.45 carrots per field annex. (As of v0.3.1.x)
